“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
I saw a clever cake post on Instagram with a caption that stated, “people, wash your hands, turn off the news and go eat some cake and things will seem a lot less scary!” I appreciated the light nature of the post given the situation at hand. Our status as a nation and worldwide can seem increasingly precarious, especially with the likes of the NBA and Disney World closing their doors. Rather, in situations like these, let’s remember that God is ultimate control, and it’s important to stay grounded in faith. Let’s be informed and prepared, but not driven by fear. Sure, there is nothing wrong with stocking up on extra toilet paper, but turn off the news reel, call a friend, or curl up with a good book. Fill your mind with positive, hopeful thoughts. After all, our breakthrough is right around the corner.
